In English there are Two words with the same meaning but there different of usage : ( Every – Each ) 

Each word has its own uses and appropriate cases, in this lesson we will review the difference between them and highlight the use of both of them .

First : ( Each )

The word ( each ) is a ward that express a singularity, not plural for example :

✔ I gave each of the kids beautiful present .

✔ I went to my grandfather each Monday .

Second : ( Every )

(Every ) word is the opposite of ( each ), it refers to the whole group and it also comes with time periods and equal in the meaning to the word ( all ) for example :

✔ Every baby like milk very much.

the difference between using ( each – every )

As mentioned earlier, There are radical difference between the uses of these Two words and in the following table we will explain these differences and learn to use each word of them with examples .

Each
Every
Used to talk about each one alone, If we want to focus on each one in the group .

It also comes before the verb and it can used as pronoun , it considered stronger accent than ( Every ) for examples

-Each one of you has a failed love experience.

-Each one of the ladies has her own charm.

-Each one of students has a dream to attend the university.

-In each room there is conditioning

- There must be a smart board In each class in the school
It used to express the whole group, That is for example :

-I went to every doctor in Egypt

-Everybody out of the place .

-Everyone is here waiting for Mrs. Maggie

Also used with time period and it indicates the recurrence of the act .

for example :

-Every Friday, go to the club with my friends for basketball.

-My father goes to his work on foot Everyday .

-The bus leaves every day .

-Every weekend we visit my friend Mike in his house
Can use with plural noun for example :

-Each one of my brothers is teacher.

-He was holding the bag in each hand.
Don't use with plural noun at all.

Usage ( Every – Each ) together in sentence :

We can also combine them in the sentence to stress and emphasize the concerned.

For example :

✔ Mrs. Samira knows each and every student in her class.-

  ( This is the strongest formula )

✔ Mrs. Samira knows each student in her class.

( Weaker formula than first )

✔ Mrs. Samira knows every student in her class .

( This is the weakest formula in the Three )
