The present perfect simple

Our lesson is about ( the present perfect simple tense ), many people are confused in using the ( simple present tense ) and the ( present perfect simple), but in this lesson we're going to eliminate this bewilderment completely, as we explain the ( present perfect simple ) in detail and very simplified with several examples .

Uses of the ( present perfect simple )

Multiple use cases of the ( present perfect simple ) in English and we will list each case separately with an example :

1-Used to express an event that occurred in the past without mentioning the timing for the event for example :

✔ I have played football.

2- This tense also used to express an event in the past only just.

For example :

✔ She has baked pancakes right now .

3-Used to express something has been done in the past with mention of the result of this thing in the present .

For example :

✔ My friends have missed the exam, so they are very angry .

4-used to talk about life experiences from events and experiences to which human begins are exposed and we usually use in this case ( never – ever ) .

For example :

✔ My sister Hana has never travelled to Canada .

Formation of this tense :

Examples Formation
-I have met my Chinese friend .

-My son has been married for 3 years

-Mai hasn't been to work in 3 weeks.

Important note :

-The past participle of regular verb is adding ( ed ) to the verb , but if the verb is irregular, it has its own past participle .

For example :

✔ I have visited my aunt since 2012 in America.
( regular verb )

✔ My son has eaten a lot of chocolate .
(irregular verb )

Usage of ( since – for )

These words usually come in The present perfect simple tense but each concerned and its own usage .

First ( since )

Used to indicate the beginning of the time period, that's, it refers to a specific point in the past .

For example :

✔ My daughter hasn't slept since 8 am.

✔ My sister has waited you since 5 pm.

Second ( for )

Used to indicate a full period of the time . 

For example :

✔ My grandmother has lived in this village for 50 years.

✔ I have studied math for 4 hours .

✔ they have walked in the street for 2 hours .
